Responsible for overseeing and implementing Michigan Radio’s social media activities. I coordinate Michigan Radio’s online outreach, engagement and promotion by directly engaging Michigan Radio’s audience in a variety of social media channels. My role also includes leading efforts to develop a vibrant social media presence for Michigan Radio’s journalism content across platforms.

Archival Editor for Social Media/Digital Preservation (Intern), National Public Radio – 6/2014 to present

Responsible for developing sustainability plan for archival editing function that connects library’s archives of over 100,000 hours of NPR programming to current events and reporting; establishing a workflow for digitization of NPR news programs stored on reel-to-reel magnetic tape, based on best practices. Other responsibilities include:

  • Channels managed: NPRchives’ Tumblr, NPRchives’ Twitter

  • Contributor: NPR Library’s Twitter

  • Sourcing compelling material from the archives to share via social media channels

  • Writing content and editing audio in NPR’s CMS Newsflex for social media channels

Social media and web strategist for the State of Opportunity Project, Michigan Radio – 1/2013 to 4/2014

Responsible for devising and executing social media and web strategy for W.H. Kellogg-funded project on children and poverty in Michigan. Campaign resulted in increasing Facebook followers by 88% over the course of one year and creating five new thematic blogging areas, which increased website visits by 25%. Other responsibilities included:
